Email Marketing Automation: GrooveMail Vs GetResponse
Email marketing is the most popular way to micro-target your audience in order to get in front of your customers.
Email marketing allows you to send your message to specific people at specific times, based on their interests.
This is ideal for sending relevant content to people who are likely to be interested in what you are offering.
Now, email marketing automation is the process of automating the sending of email messages through software applications such as GrooveMail or Getresponse. It is a highly effective way of generating leads and engaging customers.
While autoresponders and lead nurturing tools are essential for small, medium and large size businesses, there are a number of other benefits to email marketing automation.
Email marketing can also be used to collect valuable data about your customer base, which can then be used to create personalized marketing campaigns.
The benefits of email marketing automation are well documented:
Increase open-rate (the number of people that open your email messages), reduce bounce rate (the number of people that don't read your messages because they're already in the process of processing them), and reduce the number of times you have to send emails to your subscribers.
With this in mind, it's no surprise that email marketing automation has become an essential tool for marketers, entrepreneurs and business owners.
However, today, I want to go over two powerful email marketing platforms automation that will blow your subject lines out of the inbox. I have both of them so let’s do a small compare and contrast, from a real user experience.
What is GrooveMail?
GrooveMail is part of GrooveCm, one of the world's leading CRM (customer relationship management) software created by Mike Filsaime. His vision is to have GrooveMail focus on simplicity, flexibility, and reliability for small businesses and mid-size businesses too.
Groove Mail just like it’s competitors offers a great service but what makes this platform different from the rest is that it comes included with GrooveCm: Funnel Builder Website, Video Hosting Platform, E-commerce Platform, Blog Platform, among other useful products and services…
This means, instead of paying thousands of dollars every single month with other SAAS softwares, why not have everything under one single software: pay less and save a whole lot of money a year.
As of me writing this, GrooveMail is about to come out of beta version mode which means everything is going to be almost 100% functional when it comes to emailing your leads and capturing their contact information such as their full name and email addresses between others.
Overall, GrooveMail is a very simple email automation tool that is straightforward to use and the learning curve is very simple.
What Is GetResponse?
GetResponse is a fully email marketing automation platform that recently updated their software to create website pages, landing pages and sales funnels that tracks clicks and conversion rates within the SAAS.
Yes, GrooveCm has more functionality than GetResponse but the one thing that it has which is unique vs any other email marketing automation software is that it has its own messenger bot built with the software.
It’s like a chatbot which allows you to greet the visitor to your website, answer frequently asked questions and people can opt-in to your email list within the GetResponse bot if they like.
I personally use GetResponse more frequently because I had it before GrooveMail and most likely after my two year expires with them, I will just use GrooveCm for everything.
Here are a few of the differences
GrooveMail Pricing Plans
Like I mentioned above, GrooveMail is part of GrooveCm which is an all in one SAAS platform and because they are in beta mode right now, they have 3 different plans.
All payment plans give you access to a LIFETIME ACCESS: $597 (6 payment plan), $999 (2 payment plan) and $1997 (1 payment plan).
After beta mode when they officially launch, they are going to take away the LIFETIME DEAL ACCESS PLAN and go into a monthly payment service plan of: $99/month (with limited access to products) and $299/month (full access to everything).
Almost forgot, you automatically get 5000 free list size and once you go over this amount, GrooveCm will charge you extra, details unknown yet.
GetResponse Pricing Plans
Get Response offers amazing value as well but not as much as Groovemail, nevertheless let me enlighten you with their monthly plan services.
They have 3 different tiers monthly services plans depending on the list size. In addition, if you pay upfront for a 12 month service plan (-18% monthly cost) or a 24 monthly service plan (-30% monthly cost) they will deduct the original monthly price with the percentage discount.
An example would be if you decided to go with 1000 email list sizes a month, they would charge you $15/month. But instead if you get their 12 month service plan with 1000 email list size it would be a cost of $146.60 the full year saving you $33.40 a year.
This time let’s say you go with 10,000 email list sizes, you will get charged $45.50/month. For this example, you decide to pay 2 years upfront, it will cost you $ 546 a year vs $780 which will end up costing you if you do the monthly service plan at the end of the year. Saving you will save with a 2 year plan would be $234 a year.
GrooveMail Features
GrooveMail allows you to add your own leads manually to fill out their information such as: first name, last name, email address, phone number, company name, address, URL, tax number, assign list, assign tag, etc. You can also set all this up when a leads opt-in to your email list.
GrooveMail also provides tags and segmentation. Tags are used to “label” opt-ins on how they got into your email list. An example would be having a squeeze page to receive a free downloadable podcast episode in exchange for their email.
The tag would be labeled “free episode”. With this tag label if you ever want to find out who downloaded your podcast episode or even retarget them with a marketing campaigns, you can definitely do this.
Segmentation is used to separate leads coming into your email list to identify the cold leads, warm leads and hot leads. You can also separate them by demographics targeting, psychographic targeting, behavioral targeting and geographic targeting. The sky's the limit.
With GrooveMail you can also send a broadcast blast to all the leads you have or you can email specific people through different opt-in forms from your tags and segmentation list.
GrooveMail also allows you to automate your emails to your leads. You can set a time and date to send your emails, add pictures or video links within the emails and much more…
You can set up a form within GrooveMail dedicated to a specific visitor so they can give you their contact information in exchange for something of value. Maybe create an opt-in form for a weekly newsletter or one for exclusive blog content. The sky’s the limit.
Lastly, you have an analytics tab where you can see all your leads analytics, list analytics, broadcast analytics and sequence analytics to measure your open rates, bounce rate, inbound rate and all the important information you need to know when it comes to GrooveMail.
GetResponse Features
GetResponse has an automated conversion funnel feature which you can build on their landing page platform to sell your products, recover abandoned orders and convert visitors into buyers. Groovemail has this option too but it’s easier to use with GetResponse, less complicated to set this all up.
GetResponse has a website builder built in within the platform which allows you to set up a sales order form page, built in pop up forms, and more. It’s a code free website builder with an easy to use drag and drop editor, ready to make sections a performance analyzer to track everything.
GetResponse has a native built-in “web push notification” to engage and convert visitors. WIth this function you can bring back visitors to your website to convert them as well as notify them an unlimited amount of times with no extra charge, just don’t abuse this feature because it could lead to unsubscriptions.
GetResponse has a Live Web Chat (messenger bot, chatbot) that can engage your visitor and customers when arriving at your website (must be using GetResponse to have this feature).
You can provide real time customer support, segment based on conversational history and answer frequently asked questions automatically without you being behind the screen.
Even though I’ve been using GetResponse for close to a year now, I’ve never actually used the webinar builder but from what I heard it is a very easy to use app within the software. Depending on your plan, you can have more visitors or customers attending to your live webinar.
Webinars are usually to sell a product or a service that fits your customer needs through your business. With GetResponse you can set up email registrations, facebook pixel, email follow ups, share files, payment gateways, record and steam live, optimize, etc.
GetResponse offers easy to set up web forms. With this you can turn your visitors into email subscribers with ease. The advantage with this email marketing automation tool is that you can embed forms to another website builder platform and still collect the leads with GetResponse.
Even though GrooveCm is their competition because of GrooveMail, they have integrated with GetResponse so both platforms can communicate effectively when it comes to a customer opt-in to a GetResponse sign-up form.
GetResponse also has a “Paid Ads Creator” that I’ve never used so click here to find out more about built-in paid ads creator.
Is GrooveMail Easy To Use
If you are new to email marketing automation it is going to look somewhat intimidating. As you log in day by day to play around with the system, you will start to familiarize yourself with the tab buttons as well as how to create opt-in forms, creating an email list and more.
Writing the email may be the most difficult part because this is where your persuasion writing kicks in. I use an AI-Writing tool that produces high quality content not just for email but for a multitude of other things too. I recommend Copywriting books to kick up your salescopy skill like “Copywriting Secrets”.
Overall setting up most of the GrooveMail features is pretty straightforward and they do have customer support in case you get stuck on something along the way.
Is GetResponse Easy To Use
Same as GrooveMail, Getresponse has a super friendly interface that is easy to navigate if you are already familiar with email marketing automation tools. A few clicks and your emails are ready to blast out when a visitor becomes an email subscriber.
My only recommendation would be using the automation tool instead of the autoresponder. The autoresponder is the older version and the automation marketing tool is the upgraded version with a visual platform that is easy to understand.
Overall, I use GetResponse on a weekly basis (just on the creating email list, adding tags and segmentations, creating opt-in forms and setting up the automation marketing tool).
